FIREFLY WINS the Governor General's Literary Award 2021

FIREFLY has WON the Governor General's Literary Award

for Young People's Literature (text) 2021!

I am so honoured, humbled, surprised, and frankly a little shaken up! So many thanks to my wonderful publisher, DCB Young Readers, parent company Cormorant, and to the Canada Council.

I'm still a little speechless. I wonder how long it will take to sink in?

Many congratulations to fellow nominees for this award: Liselle Sambury, Angela Ahn, Sharon Jennings, and Basil and Kevin Sylvester. I loved their titles, and encourage everyone to read their wonderful books.

Soon, I will write more about this incredible meteorite which has landed in my lap. But today, I bask, because what else is a writer to do?! Thank you everybody. Firefly thanks you too.
