It's an incredible honour to continue to write books for young readers, and this book is a bit of a departure for me, since it's an illustrated chapter book. It's short, lyrical, and sweet, and has a message of friendship and love that I think everyone can get behind.
For readers 6-9, it's also a wonderful read-aloud for all ages. I hope you enjoy the story of Bat and Mr. Byrd. Illustrated by Caroline Clarke, available in stores now.
