Really honoured to say that my 6th book, Myles and the Monster Outside (Dundurn Press, 2015), has been nominated for a Hackmatack Children's Award for 2016-2017. Myles and the Monster Outside is book 2 in the Weird Stories Gone Wrong series, which is illustrated by Shawna Daigle.
Here's the Book Trailer for Myles & the Monster Outside.
The Hackmatack is a wonderful, reader's choice award. Children from three Maritime provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI), will have a chance to read at least 5 of the 10 selected books and vote on their favourite next May, 2017. I may even have the opportunity to go to the awards ceremony in Halifax, or Charlottetown or wherever it is next year!
I was lucky enough to be a Hackmatack nominee in 2014, for my third book, The Gargoyle at the Gates. I had a fantastic time meeting the librarians, kids and other authors. Here's a blog post about Hackmatack 2014.Thank you Hackmatack Award folks, librarians rule! Here's the complete list of 2016-2017 English Fiction Nominees. I'm in fantastic company.
